I have yet to meet a moderate Christian. I don't think they exist. All Christians are just waiting patiently to take over our country and our culture.
They may think they're moderate -- even going so far as to say they want to work within our American system of givernment -- but they just wait in the shadows, patiently, for their chance to put us under the thumb of despotic Christian hatred and immorality.
Some will say thay we need to be just as patient with these interlopers in order to "bring them into the fold." But when they come knockin at your door in the middle of the night waving their evil death-book and saying "Repent! Repent!" who will be listening to your calls for patience? Not the Christians, that's for sure.
This is an example of the type of blind, stupid hatred that spews from way too many Americans when they talk about Muslims, as if Muslims are any different from anybody else on Earth.

I have yet to hear of a Christian strapping a bomb to themselves and blowing up a group of innocent people.
However, muslims have perfected the art of suicide bombing.
So yes, there is a difference between the two.
Well, maybe not bombs, but guns, for sure. I've heard of a lot of Christians strapping bandoliers to themselves to kill a bunch of people.
Regardless, that's kind of my point. Suicide bombers are not moderate, of course, but you picture every Muslim as strapping a bomb to themselves, when that can't possibly be true. If it were, we wouldn't even be here. So there MUST be moderate Muslims.
There used to be a Muslim-owned store across the street from my old church, and our pastor would regularly go over there and have just normal, everyday conversations with the guys. And he got out of there alive.
When you picture someone of another religion or country as being evil by their nature, then you're just being irrational. And it's no wonder there's no peace in the world, when our so-called "moderate" Christians think that way.
Not so fast mojo, even extreme Christians don't blow themselves up, do they? And in your argument, lets stay in the last 200 hundred years, K? Don't go back to the crusades.
And we've been through this before. I don't judge islam by it's tenets, I judge it by it's members.
You have to admit, not all muslims are terrorist, but all the terrorist are muslims.
OK, I take it back. They actually use bombs and arson, too. Check out the following Wikipedia link on Christian Terrorism.
And it's funny you said you judge Islam by its Members, not its tenets, since that's the exact opposite of the ay most Christians want their religion to be viewed.

Where have you heard this is happening?

I'm a moderate Christian and I've often spoke kindly of those of the true muslim faith. I think you are speaking of people who call themselves Christians and spew hatred and talk of war in the name of God. These are not Christians at all, they are only using the name of Christianity to give them some type of credibility for their hate.
When you picture someone of another religion or country as being evil by their nature, then you're just being irrational.
Aren't you being irrational in your view of Christians?
Mary Ellen,
I think you must have missed the point of the last sentence of my post, or it wasn't clear. I know there are moderate Christians out there. The point of the post was to mirror the type of talk most Christians use when they talk about Muslims.
And the Christians with bandoliers can be read about in the link in my previous comment on this post. I would also throw in just about every school shooting and postal mishap, where most of the perpetrators would classify themselves as Christians. And throw in the KKK and other militia types, the Branch Davidians, etc., and there a pretty good sampling.
